The owner, Jim Thrasher, has over 20 years experience in the hair industry.  He is a Certified Master Haircolorist as well as a Master stylist who has worked in prestigious salons in Beverly Hills, CA and Boulder, CO before opening his very own salon here in Westminster, CO.  Education is one of the most important aspects of our salon.  We strongly believe in not only educating our stylists on the latest styles and techniques, but also our clients.  Something we hear all too often from our clients is the fact that they have trouble recreating their "salon" look at home.  We strive to educate our clients on the styling process as well as the products we use on their hair that will help them achieve that "salon" look after they have left the salon. If you are looking for a great cut or color service, something that will compliment your features, enhance your natural beauty, and give you an added confidence, then look no further.

My name is Sondra Thrasher, co-owner of Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio.  I have had the immense pleasure of working with one of the most amazing teams of professionals here at Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio over the past 8 years.

ABCH Educator

My name is Jaclyn Bravo.  I have had the pleasure of working in my preferred field of expertise for the past six years. I began cosmetology school at Ultima College of Cosmetology at the age of 16. Once I graduated, I began working as an apprentice at an upscale salon in Boulder under a nationally renowned colourist.  During my time working as an apprentice I gained a tremendous amount of skills that helped me to be the successful and talented hairdresser that I am today.  I have received my certification as an American Board Certified Master Haircolorist and I specialize in haircolor, hi-liting, lo-liting and color correction.  I strive to be the very best I can be by continuing my education and training with a master haircuter as well as taking master color classes.  I absolutely love what I do.  One of the things I love most about my job is seeing people walk out of the salon with a renewed sense of confidence about themselves.

Certified Hair Designer/ Artistic Director

My name is Cassie Strahan.  I have had a passion for hair and beauty since I was a little girl.  I began exploring styling and doing up-dos at a young age and loved it.  I received my education at the Aveda Institute where I graduated and became a licensed cosmetologist.  I had the pleasure of traveling over-seas to both London and Berlin to experience European hair design and further my education.  I worked for a renowned stylist in Denver, where I enjoyed the thrill of working both behind the scenes for fashion shows and behind the camera for photo shoots. Continuing education is a true passion of mine which I am lucky  to impart on my team as the Network Educator.  As the Artistic Director I become part of the managerial team and get to improve upon myself and my fellow teammates as well as have a hand in taking both my career and Appearances to the next level.  I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing team.  My goal is to both satisfy my clients to the best of my ability and have them leave my chair feeling fresh, beautiful, knowledgeable, and confident.

My name is Lauren Lyke.  I love the fashion industry and everything that goes along with it.  I have received extensive training through the Academy of Cosmetology Arts as well as with Jim, at Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio.  I continue to craft my art through additional educational opportunities, such as Vidal Sassoon classes and PSI Seminars.  I am friendly, self-motivated, upbeat, and confident.  When it comes to hair, I love that I have the ability and skill to fine-tune someone's appearance and help them feel and look beautiful.  What drew me to Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio was the upbeat atmosphere as well as the sophisticated, yet creative expression - all of which align with my personality and goals.  I am thrilled to be a part of this very skilled team of individuals.

Hi.  My name is Natalie Baker and I am originally  from New York.  I have worked in the beauty industry for over 6 years and love the creativity that I can add to the art of hair design.  I love highlighting hair and can do anything from very natural, sun-kissed highlights to a very dramatic, multi-dimensional look.  Designing hair by cutting is so much fun for me!  I love to create the perfect shape for your face structure.  The cut is what brings the color to life!  Color, by itself is great, but added with an exceptional haircut - that is art!

My name is Desiree Pixler, but I go by the nickname of Dez.  As a teenager, I loved to color my own hair as well as some members of my family.  I loved continuously changing my hairstyle and having my hair cut and colored often.  I spent several of my adult years contemplating a cosmetology career and after a final push from my husband, I began my pursuit.  I attended and graduated from Regency Beauty Institute, where I studied under educators with a combined experience of over 60 years.  After an intense search for a job after obtaining my license, I feel like I have found the perfect salon!  I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunity to work at Appearances with such a talented group of stylists.  The environment is very laid back, yet professional and we have the best clients!

My name is Vickie.  I am a graduate of Carreer Academy of Hair Design in Northwest Arkansas.  I have been in the hair industry for the past four years.  I have always had a passion and an eye for hair, make-up and fashion, but it took me nearly 25 years to realize my career path.  Since then, I have never looked back!  This industry has truly made me who I am today and is the very fiber of my being.  I have a love for all things "hair" and consider it an art form above and beyond anything else.  I continuously strive for perfection and push myself to expand the boundaries of my knowledge on a daily basis.  I look forward to every day and every opportunity.
