The owner, Jim Thrasher, has over 20 years experience in the hair industry.  He is a Certified Master Haircolorist as well as a Master stylist who has worked in prestigious salons in Beverly Hills, CA and Boulder, CO before opening his very own salon here in Westminster, CO.  Education is one of the most important aspects of our salon.  We strongly believe in not only educating our stylists on the latest styles and techniques, but also our clients.  Something we hear all too often from our clients is the fact that they have trouble recreating their "salon" look at home.  We strive to educate our clients on the styling process as well as the products we use on their hair that will help them achieve that "salon" look after they have left the salon. If you are looking for a great cut or color service, something that will compliment your features, enhance your natural beauty, and give you an added confidence, then look no further.

Hair Design Apprentice

My name is Sondra Thrasher, co-owner of Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio.  I have had the immense pleasure of working behind the scenes for the past 7 years and am finally ready to tap into my artistic side and join my team on the "cutting floor."  I feel very blessed in that I have an amazingly talented team to help me learn the art of hair design while I attend cosmetology school. 

I am able to offer services as an "apprentice hair designer" at reduced pricing while participating in the apprenticeship licensure program at Arts & Education Hairdressing.  Arts & Education Hairdressing provides hands-on instruction with rigorous testing procedures to ensure our proficiencies in each and every service we offer.

My name is Jaclyn Bravo.  I have had the pleasure of working in my preferred field of expertise for the past six years. I began cosmetology school at Ultima College of Cosmetology at the age of 16. Once I graduated, I began working as an apprentice at an upscale salon in Boulder under a nationally renowned colourist.  During my time working as an apprentice I gained a tremendous amount of skills that helped me to be the successful and talented hairdresser that I am today.  I have received my certification as an American Board Certified Master Haircolorist and I specialize in haircolor, hi-liting, lo-liting and color correction.  I strive to be the very best I can be by continuing my education and training with a master haircuter as well as taking master color classes.  I absolutely love what I do.  One of the things I love most about my job is seeing people walk out of the salon with a renewed sense of confidence about themselves.

Certified Hair Designer

My name is Cassie Mohrfeld.  I have had a passion for hair and beauty since I was a little girl.  I began exploring styling and doing up-dos at a young age and loved the joy of seeing my visions come to life.  I attended beauty school at the Aveda Institute of Denver where I graduated and became a licensed cosmetologist.  I had the pleasure of traveling over-seas to both London and Berlin to experience European hair design and further my education.  I worked for a renowned stylist in Denver, where I apprenticed and enjoyed the thrill of working both behind the scenes for fashion shows and behind the camera for photo shoots.  I am thrilled to be a part of the Appearances team.  My primary goal is to both satisfy my clients to the best of my ability and have them leave my chair feeling fresh, beautiful, knowledgeable, and confident.  Every client, both current and new, is an exciting experience for me and I am confident I can create the look you want!

My name is Lauren Lyke.  I love the fashion industry and everything that goes along with it.  I have received extensive training through the Academy of Cosmetology Arts as well as with Jim, at Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio.  I continue to craft my art through additional educational opportunities, such as Vidal Sassoon classes and PSI Seminars.  I am friendly, self-motivated, upbeat, and confident.  When it comes to hair, I love that I have the ability and skill to fine-tune someone's appearance and help them feel and look beautiful.  What drew me to Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio was the upbeat atmosphere as well as the sophisticated, yet creative expression - all of which align with my personality and goals.  I am thrilled to be a part of this very skilled team of individuals.

Hi.  My name is Natalie Baker and I am originally  from New York.  I have worked in the beauty industry for over 6 years and love the creativity that I can add to the art of hair design.  I love highlighting hair and can do anything from very natural, sun-kissed highlights to a very dramatic, multi-dimensional look.  Designing hair by cutting is so much fun for me!  I love to create the perfect shape for your face structure.  The cut is what brings the color to life!  Color, by itself is great, but added with an exceptional haircut - that is art!

Certified Hair Designer

My name is Colleen Kercher.  When I was a young girl, I would spend hours playing "Beauty Shop" with my dolls and as I grew up, fashion, hair, and beauty became my world.  Two weeks after graduating high school I enrolled in my first cosmetology class at Emily Griffith Cosmetology School.  Upon graduating from Cosmetology school, I began my career here at Appearances Hair Color & Design Studio as an apprentice, studying with and learning from top master colorists and stylists.  I feel very fortunate to have joined such a talented team of stylists here at Appearances.  I have completed an intense in-salon training program and am now accepting new clients.  It is my goal to give everyone I service a personalized and uniqe style every time you come in.
